Six lithium fluoride is the most important component of electrolyte, which accounts for about 43% of the total electrolyte cost. Fluorine chemical industry, although the traditional products fell significantly, but high-end product demand growth maintained a strong momentum. In particular, six fluorine lithium phosphate production and marketing continued to maintain good momentum. With the continued expansion of the new energy field in the future, six lithium fluoride hopes to usher in a sustained outbreak. Other new lithium salts are expected to replace lithium six phosphate in the future.
Brief Introduction
Chinese Name: Six fluorine lithium phosphate
English Name: Lithium Hexafluorophosphate
CAS:21324-40-3
EINECS:244-334-7
Molecular formula: LiPF6, relative molecular weight: 151.91
White crystalline or powder with a relative density of 1.50. Deliquescent; soluble in water, insoluble in low concentrations of methanol, ethanol and acetone, carbonate ester and other organic solvents. Decompose when exposed to air or heating. When exposed to air or heating, six lithium phosphate breaks down rapidly in the air due to the action of water vapor, emitting PF5 and producing white smoke.
Properties and stability
If it is used and stored in accordance with specifications, it will not be broken down
Avoid contact with oxides. Soluble in water, but also soluble in low concentrations of methanol, ethanol, propanol, carbonic acid esters and other organic solvents. Decompose when exposed to air or heating.
Synthetic Method
1., wet method is to dissolve lithium salt in anhydrous hydrofluoric acid to form LiF HF solution, and then pass into PF5 gas to react to produce six lithium fluoride crystal. Separated and dried to obtain the product.
2. dry process, the method is to LiF with anhydrous HF treatment, forming porous LiF, and then through the PF5 gas reaction, so as to obtain products.
This method is to make the 3. solvent and lithium fluoride phosphate alkali metal salt, ammonium salt or organic amine reaction in organic solvent crystallization, thus producing six lithium fluoride products.
